Over the years, several internationally renowned orchestras have accompanied the finalists of the Friuli Venezia Giulia International Piano Competition in the piano and orchestra test.

FVG Orchestra

The FVG orchestra has been collaborating with PianoFVG since 2021

The FVG Orchestra was established in 2019 at the behest of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region in order to collect the musical heritage of different realities of a border area rich in musical traditions, and was included within the Friuli Venezia Giulia International Piano Competition to promote local realities and highlight regional excellence.

It gives concerts at major theaters in the region and has given concerts in Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, Serbia and the Czech Republic.

In Italy and abroad

FVG Orchestra collaborates continuously with the region’s major competitions (Piano FVG, Piccolo Violino Magico, International Competition City of Porcia, International Clarinet Competition City of Carlino, International Music Competition City of Palmanova) and renowned festivals such as Mittelfest, Risonanze, Carniarmonie, Trieste International Operetta Festival, Pordenone International Festival of Sacred Music, Emilia Romagna Festival.

FVG Orchestra is conducted by Maestro Paolo Paroni, former principal guest conductor at the New York City Ballet Orchestra and guest conductor at many symphonic institutions in Italy and abroad.

The orchestra collaborated with PianoFVG from 2014 to 2018

the Mihail Jora Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau, conducted by Ovidiu Balan, brings together a group of about 75 talented musicians with a permanent repertoire that includes symphonic, vocal-symphonic and chamber works from different creative periods and musical styles: baroque, classical, romantic, contemporary.

World fame

The orchestra has collaborated with the Piano FVG Association for many years and has also participated in numerous international competitions to accompany jury-selected semifinalists and finalists for piano, violin, singing and wind instruments. Since its founding, it has given more than 2000 concerts in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Gibraltar, USA, etc.

Conducting it is Maestro and Honorary Conductor, Maestro Ovidiu Balan, who trained in Bucharest with Maestro Iosif Conta. He has conducted major orchestras in the USA, Cuba, Italy, Germany, France, Holland, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Russia, Portugal, Poland, Hungary.
